MOL SIGNS SHIPPING CONTRACT WITH MITSUI TRADING HOUSE
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines has signed a 10-year charter contract to operate a new ammonia carrier for Mitsui & Co., Ltd., the Japanese trading house.
MOL will operate a 35,000-cubic-meter, fully refrigerated
ammonia/liquefied petroleum gas carrier that it ordered from the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard. Delivery of the ship is slated for the second half of 2003.
MOL said that it will be the first Japanese shipping company to handle the international carriage of ammonia.
