EIMSKIP CEO SIGURGESTSSON RETIRES
The Icelandic Steamship Co., known as Eimskip, has announced the retirement of its president and chief executive officer, Hordor Sigurgestsson.
Sigurgestsson, who headed the carrier for 21 years, will continue to represent Eimskip and its investment company, Burdaras, on the board. He is currently chairman of Icelandair.
The board of Eimskip has selected Ingimundur Sigurpalsson, 48, to be chief executive officer, starting Oct. 12. Prior to joining Eimskip, he held various positions with the central and local government of Iceland.
