HAPAG-LLOYD ADDS MORE 4,900-TEU SHIPS
Hapag-Lloyd has phased another new 4,890-TEU Panamax containership into its liner services, the fifth since the beginning of the year.
The “Singapore Express,” chartered on a long-term basis, will operate within the Asia/U.S. West Coast/U.S. East Coast/north Europe “PAX” service of Hapag-Lloyd and other carriers of the Grand Alliance.
Grand Alliance carriers Hapag-Lloyd, NYK, OOCL and P&O Nedlloyd are adding capacity to the weekly transpacific and transatlantic PAX service by increasing the size of vessels in the 13-ship joint service.
Hapag-Lloyd said that it will introduce another two new 4,900-TEU ships into its services by the end of the year.
