DEUTSCHE POST WORLD NET REPORTS RECORD RESULTS for 2001
Deutsche Post World Net, the German mail, express and logistics giant, reported record revenue and earnings for 2001.
Net income rose 4.6 percent over 2000 to 1.6 billion euro ($1.4 billion). Earnings from operating activities grew 7.1 percent to 2.6 billion euro ($2.3 billion) on revenue of 33.4 billion euro ($29.0 million).
'In the first year after going public we have been able to surpass the record earnings of the 2000 fiscal year, despite the substantial economic slowdown,' said Klaus Zumwinkel, chairman.
Deutsche Post World Net anticipates growth in its express and logistics divisions.
'We expect to continue this successful course for the group,' Zumwinkel said. 'However, it will be difficult to again surpass our operating profit.'
Precise figures and details on Deutsche Post World Net's financial results will be released April 8.
