Under the terms of the contract, Kuwait & Gulf Link Transport will procure, import, store and distribute food products from both the United States and local sources to support more than 20,000 U.S. military personnel in Kuwait, Iraq and Jordan.
Logistics firm Kuwait & Gulf Link Transport (KGL) won a contract from the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to lead logistics and distribution operations for U.S. military personnel across the Gulf region.
The value of the contract is estimated to be $690 million, but is not to exceed $1.38 billion for a duration of 60 months, KGL said.
Under the terms of the contract, KGL will procure, import, store and distribute food products from both the U.S. and local sources to support more than 20,000 U.S. military personnel in Kuwait, Iraq and Jordan.
The firm will provide services primarily from its procurement and distribution hub in Kuwait.
