AMERICAN FREIGHTWAYS NAMES REED COO
Patick L. Reed has been named chief operating officer of American Freightways Inc., the less-than-truckload subsidiary of FedEx Freight.
Reed replaces Will Garrison, who retired from the company in November. He remains a part-time consultant with AF.
Reed, who was executive vice president of operations since February 1999, joined AF in 1996. He previously served as regional vice president of the Northeast operating region, and division vice president of AF's Southeast operating division.
AF, based in Harrison, Ark., and sister company Viking Freight Inc. comprise FedEx Freight, the regional freight service subsidiary of FedEx Corp.
