Euro Asia Transload to develop site at Fraser River

The Fraser River Port Authority said Tuesday that Euro Asia Transload Inc., a Burnaby, British Columbia-based warehousing and freight-forwarding operator, has signed a lease for a 10-acre portion of land on the northwestern quarter of the port authority's 700 acre Richmond Properties site.

Euro Asia will construct a warehouse on-site, with two more warehouses to follow on adjacent land. CN Rail will provide rail service to the site. Construction of the first phase of development will begin in early 2007 and will be completed by mid 2007. Upon final completion, three warehouse buildings will occupy more than 400,000 square feet on an estimated 25-acre site, with the warehouses used for port-related support services such as cross-docking and restuffing containers.
