Osmus to lead FAA hazmat program
The Federal Aviation Administration tapped agency veteran Lynne Osmus to head the new office of Internal Security and Hazardous Materials.
As an assistant administrator she is in charge of the FAA's hazardous materials shipping program, employee and contractor background checks and security for FAA facilities. Her office is also the FAA's point of contact with the Transportation Security Administration, which is in charge of air transportation security.
Osmus has been with the agency since 1979, most recently serving as senior advisor to the deputy administrator coordinating security issues between the FAA and TSA.
