U.S. Customs names Shiffman chief of staff
Robert C. Bonner, commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, has appointed Gary M. Shiffman as chief of staff.
Shiffman, who has a Ph.D. in economics, was senior policy adviser to U.S. Sen. Connie Mack.
Shiffman will advise Bonner on security, trade and management issues, and also manage day-to-day operations within the commissioner’s office as well as liaison with the White House.
