FESCO acquisition leads to Baltic/North America service
FESCO North America said Wednesday it will offer weekly containerized service to Western Russia from various ports and points in North America.
The new service follows FESCO Transport Group's recent acquisition of ESF Euroservices B.V., a Baltic feedership operator with service between continental Europe and Russia.
The rotation for the new service includes weekly calls at the ports of Montreal, New York, Norfolk, Charleston and Houston via Rotterdam to St. Petersburg, Russia. The vessels call at Delta Terminal in Rotterdam, which includes a 10-day transit time from the U.S. East Coast and 15 days from Houston. Transit time from Rotterdam to St. Petersburg is six days.
Known as FESCO ESF Ltd., the newly formed merger offers integrated container shipping and handling services between ports in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Finland and Baltic States.
FESCO ESF rotation includes: Rotterdam-Hamburg-Antwerp; Saint Petersburg; Hamburg; Kotka-Helsinki; Hamburg; and Klaipeda-Riga.
FESCO also operates a rail network in the Russian Far East, which provides shippers with intermodal services, including short-sea port transportation in the Baltic region, Russia’s main gateway for containerized imports.
