Lan Peru expands Latin American coverage

Lan Peru has added five new routes, including service to Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela and Mexico, which will offer cargo capacity to shippers.

The Lima-based airline recently began direct service to Buenos Aires with seven weekly flights. The company also started an additional four weekly flights from Lima to Quito, Ecuador and Bogota, Colombia, as well as three weekly flights from Lima to Caracas, Venezuela.

Lan Peru serves these new routes with Airbus A320 planes. Vlamir Domic, chief executive officer of Lan Peru, cited the A320's belly-hold cargo transport capabilities.

The airline also introduced three weekly flights from Lima to Mexico with Boeing 767-300 planes.

With these new services, Lan Peru now serves seven cities in Peru and 11 international destinations.

Lan Peru, established in 1999, is a member of the Lan service alliance created by participating airlines Lan Chile, Lan Peru, Lan Ecuador and Lan Dominicana.
