DELTA TO LAUNCH B767 SERVICE TO SANTIAGO
Delta Air Lines said it will launch a nonstop daily B767 passenger flight to Santiago, Chile, from Atlanta in November.
B767 widebody planes offer shippers belly capacity for pallets and containers. “We plan to offer competitive service to Santiago that will provide both passengers and cargo shippers unparalleled access from the U.S., Canada, Asia, Africa and Europe,” said Leo Mullin, Delta's chairman and chief executive officer.
Delta said the Santiago service is key to its expansion in South America. The airline provides 23 flights per day to 13 countries in the region. It has filed for governmental approval to serve Buenos Aires, Argentina; Bogota, Colombia; and Montevideo, Uruguay.
