The U.S. Transportation Department’s Federal Aviation Administration has proposed a $63,000 civil penalty against Gladwin Paint Co. of Arlington, Texas, for allegedly violating federal hazardous materials regulations.
The FAA alleged that on May 11, 2016, Gladwin attempted to ship a box containing flammable paint with FedEx by air from Arlington to Abilene, Texas. The agency said the shipment lacked proper hazmat documentation and was improperly packaged and labeled.
In addition, the FAA said Gladwin failed to provide adequate hazmat training to its employees.
