JOHNSON TO HEAD SSAÆS WASHINGTON ACTIVITIES
Stevedoring Services of America has appointed Mark Johnson vice president of government affairs and business development for its newly opened Washington, D.C., office.
John Hemingway, president and chief executive officer for Seattle-based SSA, said Johnson would be responsible for all aspects of the company’s government relations program, including business development.
SSA is also considering opportunities to provide “value-added services” to its carrier customers by representing their “common maritime interests” in Washington, Hemingway said.
Prior to joining SSA, Johnson served as vice president of government relations for Maersk Inc. in Washington.
SSA is the largest privately owned terminal operator with 150 operations worldwide.
