VAN DEN DRIEST RESIGNS AS PRESIDENT OF ECT

Carel van den Driest, president of Europe Combined Terminals, the big Dutch port handling group, has resigned, effective Jan. 1.

His successor will be Steven Lake, currently vice president of ECT.

Van den Driest, who has been president of the company for two years, said that he believes this to be the right moment to leave.

ECT is going through changes of ownership, following the recent purchase of a shareholding in the group by the Hong Kong-based Hutchison port group.
