BRITISH AIRWAYS NAMES EDDINGTON CEO
Rod Eddington, an Australian aviation export, will take over as chief executive officer of British Airways, effective May 1. He replaces Robert Ayling, who stepped down as CEO of Britain's largest airline after four years.
Eddington, 50, has been executive chairman of Ansett Holdings, a regional Asian airline. He joined the airline in 1997 after serving as managing director of Hong Kong airline Cathay Pacific.
