CARRIERS IMPROVE EUROPE/MEXICO TRANSIT TIMES
From next month, Lykes Lines, Hapag-Lloyd and TMM Lines will shorten the transit times from northern Europe to Mexico on their joint weekly Gulf-Europe Premier Loop 2 service.
For example, the revised westbound transit time from Le Havre to Veracruz will be cut to 12 days, from 14 days previously.
The service will make Veracruz the first port call in North America instead of Houston. The revised port rotation will be Veracruz, Altamira, Houston, Charleston, Antwerp, Thamesport, Bremerhaven, Le Havre, Veracruz, Altamira and Houston.
The first sailing with the new port rotation will be made by “TMM Puebla” when it sails from Antwerp on Aug. 6.
According to ComPairData, the global on-line shipping database, the 12-day transit time from Le Havre to Veracruz will be the fastest in the trade.
