Former arms broker says he’ll set up trade compliance business
Edwin Wilson, the ex-CIA agent turned international arms merchant who is serving a prison sentence for selling explosives to Libya, told the Washington Post he plans to set up a customs compliance consulting practice when he gets out of prison in September.
Wilson, 76, was convicted in 1984 of gunrunning, selling plastic explosives to Libya and plotting to kills his prosecutors. But a judge recently threw out his conviction in the plastic explosives case citing the use of false testimony.
In Tuesday’s edition of the Post, Wilson said he plans to move to Washington and advise companies on import-export issues.
