RYDER STARTS AUTO LOGISTICS UNIT WITH TOYOTA TSUSHO

Ryder System Inc., a transportation and logistics provider based in Miami, has formed TTR Logistics, a joint venture with Toyota Tsusho Americas and TTA’s parent company in Japan, Toyota Tsusho Corp.

Gene Tyndall, Ryder’s executive vice president of global markets and e-commerce, said that both Ryder and Toyota Tsusho would participate equally in TTR Logistics, which will focus on automobile logistics relating to Toyota and other Japanese car companies operating in North America.

The new venture will offer customers “one-stop shopping for logistics and transportation solutions integrated among the best-in-kind services provided by the respective Ryder and Toyota Tsusho organizations,” said Senji Fujita, president of Toyota Tsusho America.

TTR Logistics will merge Ryder’s transportation management skills with “Toyota Tsusho’s Japanese network, industry relationships, and expertise in cross-dock and warehouse operations,” said Tom Jones, senior vice president of Ryder’s global automotive group.
