BRITISH POST OFFICE BUYS CITIPOST
The British Post Office has acquire Citipost Group, a New York-based
document delivery company, which operates in Europe and North America.
"Citipost will substantially improve our delivery capability, providing
customers with a greater choice of products," said Jerry Cope, group
managing director of strategy for the Post Office.
The Post Office will spend about 25 million pounds ($40 million) to
acquire the company. The sale is subject to approval by competition
authorities.
Citipost, founded in 1991, offers delivery services in the central
business districts of major U.S. cities, with offices in New York, Boston, Chicago, Los
Angeles and San Francisco. The company also has sub-contracts in another 155 U.S.
locations and has operations in Canada, Europe and the Pacific Rim.
