TARGET LOGISTICS ACQUIRES CASSADY AIR TRANSPORTATION
Target Logistics Services, the logistics unit of parent company Target, said Friday it has bought Cassady Air Transportation, a freight forwarder and logistics provider.
Target was attracted to Cassady’s heartland geographic location, in Columbus, Ohio hub of distribution and fulfillment centers.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Cassady was formerly an independent contractor in the USF Seko forwarding organization.
Cassady’s 40,000-square-foot Columbus facility is “being linked to Target’s extensive network of domestic and international offices via an advanced IT system providing almost instantaneous tracking and retrieval information,” said Chris Coppersmith, president and chief executive officer of Target.
Coppersmith said 15 operational and sales personnel from Cassady will be retained, working under John Griffin, district manager, and Shelly Edwards, terminal manager.
