P&O NEDLLOYD, NYK AND MAERSK REPLACE EUROPE/MONTREAL SHIPS
P&O Nedlloyd, NYK and Maersk Sealand have introduced faster vessels in their joint northern Europe/Montreal container service.
The new ships — the “Teval,” the “Karawa” and the “Maersk Montreal” — have a speed of about 20 knots, instead of 18 knots for the previous vessels in the weekly service. All three ships are ice-strenghtened and have an average capacity of about 1,400 TEUs.
P&O Nedlloyd said the faster ships will improve schedule reliability of the service and ensure that the service calls at the port of Bremerhaven all year round.
The non-conference service has a rotation of Montreal, Felixstowe, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam and Montreal.
