MOL, IVER SHIPS JOIN FORCES IN TANKER MARKET
MOL and Iver Ships said Monday they plan to pool their resources in the clean petroleum products tanker market in the Asia Pacific region.
The partnership, which will be phased in over the next six months, will eventually include a fleet of 12 vessels in the 45,000-deadweight-ton size.
The lines also plan to launch 20 new vessels by 2003. Both companies currently operate their own service networks out of Tokyo and Singapore.
The lines said the partnership will provide stronger marketing and sales network in the Asia Pacific area.
Iver Ships, which has a fleet of 24 product and chemical vessels, is owned by Brostrom AB of Sweden, and Vroon B.V. of the Netherlands.
