CP SHIPS TAKES DELIVERY OF ôTMM COLIMAö
CP Ships Ltd. has taken delivery of the 3,200-TEU 'TMM Colima,' built by China Shipbuilding Corp. in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
The 'TMM Colima' is the third new containership to be delivered under CP Ships' four-year, $800-million ship replacement program, and will be deployed in the Asia/Americas trade lane.
CP Ships is more than halfway through its ship replacement program which by mid 2003 will add 10 new, 13 used and six long-term charters that will replace ships on short to medium-term charters. The company aims to increase its owned and long-term committed fleet to more than 70 percent of total capacity, from about 30 percent when the program started in 2000.
CP Ships operates in 24 trade lanes through seven brands: ANZDL, Canada Maritime, Cast, Contship Containerlines, Italia Line, Lykes Lines and TMM Lines.
