COSCO SAYS IT HASN’T ORDERED CONTAINERSHIPS
China Ocean Shipping Group says that contrary to press reports, it hasn’t
ordered a series of 5,250-TEU containerships from China’s Nantong shipyard.
Sun Jiakang, general manager of the transportation division of COSCO in
Beijing, said the company is discussing orders with several shipyards.
COSCO Container Lines, the liner shipping arm of the COSCO group, already
operates six 5,446-TEU containerships that were delivered in 1997.
