Wallenius Wilhelmsen appoints Fitzgerald head of ocean services
Wallenius Wilhelmsen Lines has appointed Raymond F. Fitzgerald as chief operating officer and head of the company’s ocean services division.
Based at the company’s headquarters in Oslo, Norway, he will oversee all business functions relating to Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s ocean transport activities. Fitzgerald will take up his new appointment in August, replacing Christopher J Connor, who has recently been named president of the Americas region, headquartered in New Jersey.
Fitzgerald has been the executive vice president and deputy head of the Americas region, responsible for all commercial activity in North and South America. He has 20 years’ experience in shipping, having worked with Crowley Maritime and steamship agencies in New York and Philadelphia.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen operates about 60 modern vessels and 600 inland vehicle transporters, and has nearly 3,000 employees across five continents.
