Turkish cargo airline begins London service
New Turkish cargo airline Orbit Express Airlines (Orex) has selected Pace Airline Management as its general sales agent for the United Kingdom and Ireland to help launch scheduled service between London and Istanbul.
Orex has been operating charter services since November 2002 using an Airbus A300C4-200 freighter and received Turkish government approval in April to run scheduled service. It operated its first scheduled flight from London’s Gatwick Airport to Istanbul on Oct. 19. The airline has two scheduled flights per week from Istanbul to Brussels and London. Orex says it plans to add a third flight shortly as well as routes between the Turkish capital and Frankfurt, Germany and from India to Brussels via Istanbul.
Pace is owned by European Cargo Services, which will represent Orex in Belgium.
