i2, CAPSTAN TEAM UP TO PROVIDE ONLINE LOGISTICS SERVICES
i2 Technologies, the Texas-based developer of online business-to-business marketplaces, and Capstan Systems, a provider of online supply chain management tools, have signed an agreement to integrate Capstan’s solutions into i2’s FreightMatrix product.
i2 has invested an undisclosed sum in Capstan and will join with the Silicon Valley-based company to develop future product releases. The joint i2-Capstan offering is designed to give companies the ability to do everything from sell and buy goods to book shipments and communicate with transportation providers.
The two companies expect to begin marketing the joint product to shippers, third-party logistics providers and business-to-business exchanges by July.
