SAFEWAY PICKS ELOGEX MANAGEMENT SOLUTION
Safeway Inc., a food-and-drug retailer, has contracted with Elogex Inc., a provider of network-based logistics solutions, for a transportation management application.
Safeway will use the Elogex OneNetwork as a platform to handle inbound transportation across Safeway’s network of distribution centers in North America.
“That will improve Safeway’s supply chain processes by breaking down traditional silos to link information across people and facilities,” said Travis Parsons, president and chief executive officer of Elogex, which is based in Charlotte, N.C.
Safeway had sales of $32.4 billion in 2002.
