HYUNDAI REVISES PACIFIC NORTHWEST/ASIA SERVICE

Hyundai Merchant Marine, as part of the New World Alliance, has dropped calls at Kobe, Kwangyang and a second westbound call at Tacoma from its Pacific Northwest/Asia service.

The 2,984-TEU ship Hyundai Pioneer initiated the changes when it departed from Hong Kong on Sept. 26.

The move to a shorter rotation enabled Hyundai to remove one ship, the 2,984-TEU Hyundai Commander, from the PNW service, leaving five ships of the same capacity.

The new port rotation is Tacoma, Vancouver, Portland, Yokohama, Busan, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Busan, Tacoma, Vancouver and Portland.

APL and Mitsui O.S.K Lines, Hyundai’s partners in the New World Alliance, take space on the service.

The revised transit times of the service are posted on the global liner shipping database ComPairData at www.compairdata.com.
