World Courier, a logistics specialist in the pharmaceutical industry, has expanded its global footprint by adding four overseas offices, which are located in Chengdu, China; Manila; Vilnius, Lithuania; and Belgrade, Serbia.
Sam Herbert, World Courier’s president, said the additional offices reflect the global expansion of bio-pharmaceutical supply chains and the increased need for “in-market” expertise when it comes to building relationships with overseas customs authorities and providing temperature-controlled services.
World Courier, a subsidiary of AmerisourceBergen, is also expanding its facilities in Feltham, U.K., and Boston. The facility expansions and new offices will increase the company’s global presence to just over 140 offices in more than 50 countries.
In addition, the company recently formed so-called “international personalized supply chain teams,” which support service specialties, including direct-to-patient, cell and gene therapy, and clinical trials execution. These World Courier employees work with customers to provide a combination of specialized project management and services to deliver specific treatments to patients.
“As our industry changes, we continue to evolve – through investments and innovation – to meet the demands of today’s patients,” Herbert said.
