CHINA SHIPPING ADDS BARCELONA TO MEDITERRANEAN/U.S. SERVICE
China Shipping Container Lines, the liner shipping arm of the China Shipping Group, has added a direct call at Barcelona to its weekly Mediterranean America Shuttle service.
The vessel “Nefeli 1” was scheduled to make the first departure from the Spanish port on Dec. 15.
The MAS service went weekly in September after an aborted attempt to merge with another Asia/Europe service.
The MAS service uses five vessels averaging around 1,800 TEUs. The revised port rotation of the MAS service is Gioia Tauro, Naples, Genoa, Leghorn, Barcelona, Valencia, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Gioia Tauro, Naples, Leghorn, Genoa, Barcelona and Valencia.
