USDA’s Farrish to lead new ethanol producer
Bert Farrish said he’s leaving the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency to oversee the operations of a new company that will make grain-based ethanol, according to a news report by World-Grain.com.
Since joining the USDA in 2001, Farrish often represented the department on international food aid issues. He managed the USDA Commodity Credit Corp.’s purchases of food aid commodities.
Prior to his government service, Farrish spent many years in the grain elevator business, last serving as president of Portland, Ore.-based Columbia Grain.
World-Grain.com said Farrish will now be president and chief executive officer of Everton Energy, based in Kansas City, Mo.
