CV International, Inc. (CVI), a Norfolk, Va.-based freight forwarder and customs broker, has completed the acquisition of M & S Shipping, Ltd. of Virginia Beach, Va., according to a joint statement from the companies.
The forwarding operations of M & S Shipping will be merged into those of CVI upon completion of the deal, the financial terms of which were not disclosed.
M & S Shipping, Ltd. was founded in 1987 as the U.S. subsidiary of London-based M & S Shipping Group, Ltd. to provide a “single source logistics firm that could deliver ocean, air, truck and rail shipping services.”
The companies said all of M & S Shipping’s employees will join the CVI team in Norfolk, VA.
“This was a positive development for both of our companies,” CVI President Mike Coleman said of the deal. “We have known and worked with M & S for a long time. Their business philosophy and unwavering dedication to customer service fits very well with our own.”
“We are looking forward to joining the CVI team and the expanded support we will have to service our customer base,” added Peter Simmons, president of M & S Shipping. “This was truly a perfect fit both in terms of maintaining quality service and making the process seamless to our customers.”
