GRAND ALLIANCE FINALIZES NEW CKX PACIFIC SERVICE

    The Grand Alliance carriers – OOCL, NYK, P&O Nedlloyd and
Hapag-Lloyd – have finalized the details of the "China Korea Express"
transpacific service due to tbe launched at the end of the month.
    The service will have a port rotation of Los Angeles (Sunday-Tuesday),
Seattle (Thursday-Friday), Busan (Monday-Tuesday), Hong Kong (Thursday-Friday), Shanghai
(Sunday-Monday), Qingdao (Tuesday-Wednesday), Busan (Thursday-Friday) and Los Angeles
again.
It will provide a 9-day transit time from Busan to Los Angeles and a 10-day westbound
transit from Seattle to Busan.
    The new loop is scheduled to commence in Hong Kong on July 30.
After the introduction of the CKX service, Qingdao will be served by the new loop instead
of by the separate "JCX" service operated by the Grand Alliance.
