Horizon Lines changes Tacoma reefer procedure
Horizon Lines has changed the procedure for receiving reefer containers at the port of Tacoma destined for Alaska.
From today onwards, reefer containers will no longer be required to stop at the “pre-gate” to check the temperature reading. Instead, after receiving a parking assignment at the main gate, they will proceed directly to the reefer genset area near the “out-gate.” Horizon Lines said additional staff will be on site for temperature verification and genset removal, if one is attached. Once processed, containers will be parked in the reefer row nearby.
