USF BESTWAY OPENS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CENTER
USF Bestway, the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based less-than-truckload service provider in the Pacific Southwest, has opened a new service center in Fontana, Calif.
The 25-acre 167-loading-door center is parent company USFreightways' largest-ever construction project. The center has 400 percent more loading doors and 500 percent more yard space than the previous Fontana location.
USF Bestway said 62 percent of its customers' shipments move from, to or through the Los Angeles basin, said Gary Beggs, president. The new center is expected 'to provide an even earlier next-day service and faster regional and national service for our customers.'
