Vitarana, Yeager will receive “Connie” Awards
The Containerization and Intermodal Institute will present its annual “Connie” Awards this year to Anil Jay Vitarana, president of United Arab Agencies Inc., and Phillip C. Yeager, founder and chairman of The Hub Group Inc.
Vitarana has been in his present position for 11 years, overseeing nine offices in North America for United Arab Shipping, the national shipping line of six Arabian Gulf countries. Previously he was chief executive officer of Ceylon Shipping Co.
Phillip C. Yeager has been chairman of The Hub Group since October 1985. Yeager became involved in intermodal transportation in 1959, five years after the introduction of containerization, as an employee of the Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania Central Railroads.
