ARC expands U.S.-flag ro/ro service in the Atlantic

American Roll-on/Roll-Off Carrier (ARC) has expanded its Atlantic ro/ro service with the addition of a fifth U.S.-flag vessel.
The ARC Freedom will allow for regular port calls at Galveston, Texas, and Veracruz, Mexico.
“With this service expansion, ARC will provide substantial, reliable, and regular support to their commercial partners in the U.S., Mexico, Europe and the Mediterranean, and provide additional retrograde and redeployment capability for the Department of Defense through Europe and on the Northern distribution network,” the Park Ridge, N.J.-based carrier said.
In addition to Galveston and Veracruz, other ports called on its Atlantic service include Brunswick, Ga.; Charleston, S.C.; Baltimore; Antwerp; Bremerhaven; and South Hampton, with transit to and from the Mediterranean. ARC’s vessels call each of these ports on a 10-day frequency.
