Ocean carrier APL announced its joint ACX/NAE service with Maersk subsidiary SeaLand will drop its call at Miami in favor of a call at Port Everglades.
Ocean carrier APL announced a new rotation for the ACX/NAE service, on which Maersk subsidiary SeaLand also provides vessels, starting Aug. 27 with the Spirit of Colombo.
The service will drop its call at Miami in favor of a call at Port Everglades, where it will utilize the Florida International Terminal.
The new rotation of the ACX/NAE will be Manzanillo (Panama), Port Everglades, New York, Philadelphia, Savannah, Port Everglades, Cartagena (Colombia) and Manzanillo (Panama).
According to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting, the ACX/NAE currently operates with three vessels with an average capacity of 1,528 TEUs, with a full rotation of Manzanillo (Panama), Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Savannah, Miami, Cartagena (Colombia) and Manzanillo (Panama).
Although the SeaLand/APL service is dropping Miami, Seaboard Marine offers dedicated service between Miami and the North Coast of South America via its Miami-Eastern Caribbean service, as illustrated by BlueWater Reporting’s Port Dashboard application.
Seaboard Marine operates four additional dedicated intra-Americas services with connections between Miami and Central America, including the carrier’s three Miami-North Central America loops and its Miami-South Central America loop.
