FOREIGN ASSETS CONTROL OFFICE CITES VIOLATORS OF SANCTIONS
The Stolt-Nielson Transportation Group and Zim American Israeli Shipping Co. were among companies listed by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control as facing civil penalties for violation of U.S. economic sanctions.
Stolt-Nielson, based in Greenwich, Conn., received a penalty of $95,000. Zim American Israeli Shipping Co. Inc. in Miami, received a penalty of $250,000, the largest among the 58 companies cited.
Other companies that had penalties imposed included Amazon.com, $1,985.68; Caterpillar, $18,000; Dow Agrosciences, $20,000; Wal-Mart Stores, $50,000; and the New York Yankees, $75,000.
