EIMSKIP INCREASES PRESENCE IN NEWFOUNDLAND MARKET WITH COLD STORAGE
Icelandic liner carrier Eimskip has increased its presence in the Newfoundland fish shipping market by acquiring a 25-percent share in Harbour Grace CS Inc., which operates a cold storage warehouse in Conception Bay.
The facility, which includes 2,500 square meters of storage to handle up to 2,200 pallets, will be managed by Eimskip. Pjetur Mar Helgason, formerly of Eimskip’s bulk transport division, has been appointed to managing director of the operation.
The Harbor Grace warehouse is an hour’s drive from the port of Argentia, Newfoundland, where Eimskip’s vessels call.
