FEDEX GROUND ADDS 85 CITIES TO HOME DELIVERY NETWORK
FedEx Ground, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., said Tuesday it has added FedEx Home Delivery terminals in 85 additional cities in 30 states, the largest single-day expansion of the residential-only delivery service.
The expansion Tuesday — which brought FedEx Home Delivery's national coverage to 70 percent of the U.S. population, from 50 percent — is part of a two-phase approach by FedEx to achieve full U.S. coverage by September 2002, one year ahead of schedule. The second phase will add about 65 terminals and expand the home delivery service to 80 percent of the United States by September.
FedEx Home Delivery, launched last March, provides business-to-consumer ground delivery options with a money-back guarantee.
FedEx Ground has a network of 370 distribution hubs and local pickup-and-delivery terminals throughout the United States and Canada.
