FL Group to buy another five Boeing 737-800 airplanes
Boeing said the FL Group, Icelandair’s parent company, has taken up its option to purchase five additional 737-800 airplanes.
In January the FL Group, formerly known as Flugleidir Icelandair, made a firm order for 10 Boeing 737-800 airplanes, totaling $650 million at list prices, plus purchase rights for the five additional aircraft of the same type.
The five new airplanes are valued at $325 million at list prices with delivery scheduled for 2007, while deliveries from the January order will occur next year.
The FL Group established a separate subsidiary in January to lease the airplanes from the Boeing order to other carriers, with China being a target market.
