PORT OF MIAMI FIRST-HALF CONTAINER VOLUME UP 13.5%
The Port of Miami said its first-half container volume improved 13.5 percent to 722,403 TEUs.
Outbound volume rose 18.7 percent to 304,551 TEUs, while inbound containers rose 8.7 percent to 332.170 TEUs.
June throughput was 81,475 TEUs, up 13.6 percent from June 2000, as inbound and outbound volumes were practically even.
Total tonnage at the port rose 7.1 percent to 6.23 million tons.
