HOME DEPOT PICKS USCO TO MANAGE OVERFLOW PROGRAM

Home Depot has contracted with USCO Logistics, a provider of supply chain solutions, to manage the home-improvement retail chain' expanded seasonal overflow program.

The program will use USCO’s multi-customer distribution centers in Alsip, Ill.; Franklin, Miss.; Jersey City, N.J., and Salt Lake City, Utah. USCO has operated one-facility trial project for Home Depot since 2002.

At each distribution center, Home Depot will position high-velocity, oversized products critical to the spring selling season. Shipments will move directly to stores without burdening Home Depot’s existing warehouse network.

USCO Logistics, based in Hamden, Conn., is part of Kuehne & Nagel International AG, which has its headquarters in Schindellegi, Switzerland.
