FEDEX STARTS HOME SERVICE
FedEx Corp., based in Memphis, said on Tuesday that it has launched FedEx Home Delivery, a new service for business-to-consumer shippers and residential customers.
FedEx expects the new service to benefit from an expected increase in online purchases, a $38 billion market in 2000 that is projected to be $184 billion by 2004.
Daniel J. Sullivan, president and chief executive officer of FedEx Home Delivery, said that the service offers the industry’s first money-back guarantee for ground delivery to residences, as well as deliveries by appointment and during the evening.
