AMERICAN CHEMISTRY COUNCIL PUBLISHES TRANSPORT SAFETY GUIDELINES
The American Chemistry Council has published a book of guidelines designed to assist member companies and allied organizations to address transport of hazardous materials via all transportation modes.
The book, “Transportation Security Guidelines for the U.S. Chemical Industry,” outlines elements of security programs while suggesting security practices managers can tailor to meet a company’s specific needs. The document takes a risk-based approach and provides examples of preventive measures and alternatives that can be implemented.
The guidelines in the book were developed by the American Chemistry Council, The National Association of Chemical Distributors and The Chlorine Institute, with the assistance of other associations.
The transportation safety guideline books are designed to complement the “Site Security Guidelines for the U.S. Chemical Industry,” released in late October. Both documents can be found at http://www.americanchemistry.com .
