TACA raises bunker fuel adjustments
The Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreement (TACA) of seven ocean carriers has increased its bunker fuel adjustment factors 'based on the latest monitoring of fuel prices, which has seen further substantial increases,' the conference said in a statement.
Effective from Sept. 16 through at least Oct. 15, for traffic to, from, and via U.S. Atlantic and Gulf Coast ports the surcharge will increase to $354 from $304 per 20-foot container and to $708 from $608 per 40 and 45-foot containers. The 'weight or measure' charge for non-containerized cargo increases to $35 from $30.
For traffic to, from and via U.S. Pacific Coast ports, the surcharge increases to $531 from $456 per 20-foot container, and to $1,062 from $912 per 40 and 45-foot containers. The weight or measure charge increases to $53 from $46.
TACA's members are Atlantic Container Line, Hapag-Lloyd Container Linie, Mediterranean Shipping Co., A.P. Moller-Maersk Sealand, Nippon Yusen Kaisha Line, Orient Overseas Container Line, and P&O Nedlloyd.
