World Airways to deliver mail for troops in Iraq
World Airways said Friday it has been selected by the U.S. Postal Service to operate at least eight all-cargo flights between Newark, N.J. and Bahrain during September.
World will use DC-10-30F aircraft to carry U.S. mail to and from American service personnel serving in Iraq.
Steve Dix, senior director of cargo, said World Airways was the only company to receive the award. The company has won other contracts from USPS during the past six to eight months to serve the war theater, Dix said.
